For the decking surface, we selected 140mm x 19mm Merbau timber, renowned for its durability and rich, natural hues. Each board was meticulously laid to ensure a seamless finish. To enhance the timber’s natural beauty and protect it from the elements, we performed a comprehensive sanding process, progressing from coarse to fine grades, followed by the application of a wet-look decking oil. This treatment not only accentuates the wood grain but also provides long-lasting protection.
Finishing Touches
To ensure structural integrity and a clean aesthetic, the decking boards were fastened using stainless steel screws. This choice of hardware offers superior resistance to corrosion, particularly important for outdoor installations exposed to varying weather conditions.
