Pascoe Vale Decking - Outdoor Living
Decking and Outdoor Living in Pascoe Vale
We removed all of the old treated pine decking around the pool of this grand Pascoe Vale home due to the inconsistency of levels and basically rough workmanship. After the deck was removed, we noticed that the sub-frame consisting of stumps, bearers and joists where all built wrong.
The first task to take place on this project was to start from the beginning by replacing all of the stumps with new holes dug out and fresh concrete poured.
As the levels were completed, we continued with the bearers and joists to finalise and brace the newly constructed sub-frame. The material used for the new deck was 140mm x 19mm Merbau timber which was laid to the length of the pool.
To finish the works, we fixed down the deck with stainless steel screws to properly brace the structure and neaten the overall look.
As a direct result of a loose and flimsy frame we had to remove the glass panelled pool fence and re-frame and support the underlying beams. Once this was done, we re-installed the pool fence which we levelled.
