The homeowners sought a modern update that would maximise storage without compromising the kitchen’s open feel. We achieved this by implementing a two-toned color scheme, featuring a reconstituted quartz olive stone benchtop set atop a solid hardwood floor. This combination not only adds visual interest but also ensures durability and ease of maintenance.
To improve storage, we incorporated three sets of pot drawers, overhead cupboards, and open shelving. A cleverly concealed built-in cupboard was designed to house a bin, maintaining the kitchen’s sleek appearance. All drawers and doors are equipped with soft-close mechanisms, preventing long-term wear and ensuring a quiet, smooth operation.
Modern Design Meets Practical Functionality
Appliance integration was a key consideration. We allocated space for a large 900mm oven and rangehood, a dishwasher adjacent to the sink, and a generously sized area to accommodate virtually any refrigerator. A dedicated microwave niche and a walk-in pantry with custom shelving further contribute to the kitchen’s functionality.
A tiled splashback was installed to protect the walls and complement the kitchen’s modern aesthetic. The inclusion of a large double-sided sink with separate drainboards on each side, paired with an elegant chrome mixer tap, adds both practicality and style.
To complete the renovation, we constructed a 900mm extended benchtop with a waterfall edge, creating a breakfast bar that serves as both a casual dining area and an additional workspace.
